Services: Boot Fitting Ski Boot Fitting
Our boot fitting techniques provide not just a better, more comfortable fit – but superior performance on the mountain!
Bring in your current boot, or if you need a different/new ski boot, we will work with you to analyze your foot to determine which boot will work best and help you decide where to purchase them. Bring your boots back to The Ski Shoe for your custom ski boot fit. We will create a 3D scan to determine your proper alignment and stance.
The Ski Shoe custom boot fit is based on the knowledge, technology and the desire to make sure your foot is working properly inside that plastic shell!
Our 5 Step Boot Fitting Process:
1. Your First Visit
Every fitting begins with a conversation and detailed foot analysis, including past boot issues and performance concerns. We discuss your skiing style and goals, evaluate your current setup, and determine the best path forward, including whether a ZipFit custom liner may be appropriate.
2. Building an Insole
Proper alignment starts from the ground up. After reviewing insole options, including Sidas and Biomoto systems, we create a custom insole designed to support balance, stability, and long-term comfort within your boot.
3. Customizing Your Ski Boot
Using precise measurements and 3D scanning technology, we evaluate your lower legs and feet to ensure accuracy. If your boots are suitable, the shell is shaped and adjusted to match your specific bone structure, creating a performance-driven fit built around your anatomy.
4. Stance, Alignment, & Balance
We assess stance, alignment, and leverage points to ensure your body is positioned efficiently within the boot. Proper balance improves control and maximizes power transfer, helping you engage the ski cleanly and confidently on the mountain.
5. Go Skiing!
The final step happens on snow. Your new setup is designed to improve comfort and performance immediately.
If additional refinements are needed, we continue working with you to fine-tune the fit until it performs exactly as intended.

Comprehensive Biomechanical Assessment: Using Biomoto’s motion-capture technology, we analyze 60 points of contact within your cycling shoes to assess force, speed, and symmetry. This evaluation captures your body in motion, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and imbalances.
2D Foot Scanning: A state-of-the-art scan of your feet provides precise measurements, revealing unique characteristics like arch height, pronation, or foot length differences to inform custom insole creation.
Bike Position Optimization: Using a Size Cycle system, we focus on your body’s position rather than the bike itself, adjusting saddle height, handlebar reach, and cleat placement for an ergonomic fit tailored to your anatomy and riding style.
Video Analysis & Feedback: Real-time video analysis helps visualize your pedaling mechanics, ensuring adjustments align with your goals for performance or comfort.
Personalized Consultation: With their background in competitive cycling and numerous years within the biking industry, Brian and Nick will listen to your riding history and goals, ensuring a collaborative and welcoming experience. Expect a 1.5-hour session.
